ABOUT ARTIST
Born in Riga (Latvia), Susanna Chernobrova graduated from the University of Latvia with a degree in theoretical physics, completed a course of drawing and painting organized by the Latvian Art Academy, and studied fine arts and pedagogy at the External University of Arts in Moscow.
Susanna Chernobrova participated in unofficial art exhibitions held in Malaya Gruzinskaya Str., Moscow, and was a member of the "Moscow City Committee of Graphic Artists on Malaya Gruizinskaya". She taught at a children's art studio; worked as a stage designer at a Youth Theater; designed playbills and theater posters, and illustrated two books of her own "Manuscript Copyright" and "Electronic Mail" – as well as "Journey to the Lighthouse", a book by Yuli Kim.
She has lived in Jerusalem since 1991 and works as an artist at the Jerusalem Journal.
Susanna took part in the publication of the Book of Psalms (150 psalms – 150 artists, Jerusalem, 2006). Nowadays, she is a member of the Jerusalem Anthology Association. Awards: The David Samoilov Prize for the "Electronic Mail" book (2009).
